Brennan Ficko is a seasoned strategic planner, trusted advisor, and partnership builder with over 20 years of experience driving healthy, sustainable growth in alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values. His career has been defined by a commitment to delivering creative, data-driven solutions that diversify and expand revenue streams while fostering meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Previously, Brennan was elected Chair of the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES) Corporate Advisory Council, where he guided vendor engagement strategies. He also served as Communications and Membership VP for the IFMA GTA/South Central Chapter, where he led social media growth initiatives that more than doubled the chapter’s LinkedIn following.

Brennan’s professional ethos is rooted in the belief that the built environment plays a critical role in enabling healthcare professionals—researchers, doctors, nurses, and administrators—to deliver exceptional patient care. MJ Gomathi is a dynamic Facilities Management leader with a diverse background spanning both private and government sectors. As a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) with additional credentials in Facility Management Professional (FMP), Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP), and LEED Green Associate, she brings a well-rounded and strategic perspective to the built environment.

In her role as a Senior Project Manager at Terracon, MJ leads facility condition assessments and capital planning efforts for millions of square feet across healthcare, higher education, and municipal sectors. Her deep understanding of facility data, paired with a focus on proactive maintenance and safety, helps clients make informed decisions—especially vital in healthcare environments where reliability and compliance are mission-critical.

As President of the IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter and Vice-Chair of the IFMA Young Professionals Global Network, MJ is passionate about mentorship, professional development, and expanding career pathways for the next generation of FM leaders.

She is eager to contribute to the IFMA Healthcare Council to collaborate with fellow professionals committed to optimizing healthcare environments. Isaac Owusu Adjakwah is a seasoned practitioner in Facility Management and Healthcare Technology Management, with over 20 years of experience in the aviation and healthcare industries. He specializes in devising, developing, and managing solutions related to facilities management, healthcare technology management (HTM), and project management.

Since 2007, Mr. Adjakwah has provided strategic leadership in managing and maintaining aviation and healthcare technology, support services, and human capital management.

He holds an MBA in Engineering Management from Coventry University, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Engineering from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, Germany. Additionally, he possesses a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management and Design from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK, as well as a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Takoradi Technical University.

Isaac currently serves as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), Director for Partnerships at the African Facilities Management Association (AFM), and a Board member of the LB Group. He has also been involved in organizing the annual IFMA Global Africa Conference since 2024 as a member of the programs committee and has previously served as Chair of the Educational Committee of IFMA Ghana.

As the Director of Property Management for Carnegie Management and Development Corporation, Geoff Boss brings nearly 30 years of experience in facilities and property management. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed a diverse portfolio of retail, commercial, healthcare, and government properties, earning a reputation for operational excellence, strategic leadership, and delivering value to clients and stakeholders.

Geoff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts degree from The University of Akron. He is an active leader within the facilities management profession, having served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Northern Ohio Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), including 2 terms as Chapter President and currently serving on IFMA Healthcare Council Board of Directors.

Committed to professional development, Geoff has earned several industry-recognized credentials, including the Development, Design, and Construction Professional (CDP), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), and Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) designations through IFMA.

Geoff began his career in the retail shopping center industry, where he developed expertise in property operations, tenant relations, project management, and capital planning. Following experience in residential property management, he transitioned into commercial facilities management, overseeing office buildings, manufacturing facilities, and complex real estate portfolios.

In his current role at Carnegie Management and Development Corporation, Geoff oversees a portfolio exceeding five million square feet. His responsibilities include the strategic management of retail shopping centers, commercial office buildings, and a significant government portfolio that includes facilities occupied by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, and other federal agencies. His leadership focuses on maximizing asset performance, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service across a diverse real estate portfolio.

I recently retired after 42 years combined US federal service – active and reserve military, and civil service in two agencies.  I spent the latter half of my career in healthcare engineering and medical facility management, specifically:

Chief, Medical Facilities Center of Expertise, US Army Corps of Engineers (2010-2024) and, Chief, Facilities Management Service, Edward Hines Jr. Hospital, US Department of Veterans Affairs (2004-2010).

In my last position, I served as the senior healthcare engineer in USACE – the design and construction agent for Defense and Veterans Health major medical projects.  In addition to helping deliver construction projects, we assisted facilities with: maintenance & operations; sustainment & renewal; code & accreditation compliance; and, writing design criteria.

My career capstone came in that role when I was selected as one of the leads helping to guide US federal facilities response during the COVID-19 public health emergency in the US and abroad.  That work involved creating performance oriented design, construction and operational criteria for alternate care facilities, community vaccination centers, and support to vaccine manufacturing and deployment.

I have been a part of IFMA for more than a quarter century.  I want to take this opportunity to contribute to our discipline through the Healthcare Council.  While I recognize the “perishability” of technical and institutional knowledge, I would like to: share anything I know that remains valid; serve as a sounding board for ideas; and, swap “war stories” with anyone that wants to learn from good examples or tragic warnings.
