Health Care Council Rebrand 2019

The former Health Care Institute of IFMA has been rebranded as the Health Care Council of IFMA (HCC). The freshly renamed council is led by a great new group of people representing different areas of the Health Care sector. The new board president, Sarel Lavy, PhD, is with Texas A&M is a Fellow of the CRS Center for Leadership and Management in the Design and Construction Industry, the Center for Health Design. He is joined by Rich Greco of CBRE, as vice president, who provides property management, operations and transaction management solutions to MedStar Health, the largest healthcare provider in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. The HCC Treasurer is Christopher Thornhill, Regional Sales Manager for Interstate Restoration. Karin Schaad is the Secretary and the Head of Facility Services for the University Hospital of Zurich. Karin also serves as the Vice Chair for the Swiss FM association Fmpro. Susan Suhar, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, is the Interior Design Principal for HDR Architecture, Inc. Additional board members are Susan Suhar, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, is the Interior Design Principal for HDR Architecture, Inc. and Lily Salkoff works for Tremco as Healthcare Specialist for the Gulf Coast Region. Lily is also experienced with the Florida Healthcare Engineering Association.
The new HCC Board is already taking steps to make an impact in the industry as a Diamond Level sponsor at the inaugural International Nursing Conference for Excellence in Healthcare Design. Board member Lily Salkoff will present on a panel discussion as well as representing the council in the booth at the expo, helping increase the awareness of HCC. Board President, Sarel Lavy, PhD. is invited to speak at World Workplace China 2019, and is looking forward to the opportunity address FMs in Suzhou. Additionally, HCCwill have three educational sessions at IFMA’s World Workplace 2019 relating to FM in healthcare. This is a strong beginning and the board is working to bring even more value and benefits to the members of the Health Care Council of IFMA.
